APL team tackle Snowdon
On 17 June, a team of APL 91快播鈥檚 intrepid adventurers replaced their laptops with hiking boots and travelled to Wales to tackle mount Snowdon.
Led by APL 91快播 managing director, Matthew Jackson, the team started with a challenging climb of Moel Siabod, hiking over mountain tracks before stopping for lunch by an abandoned quarry. The walk continued over bog tracks, finally, a tough scramble up the ridgeline of Daear Ddu and through the clouds to the summit.
Saturday was a rest day, although some of the team did some bouldering and climbing, led by Silvia Fitzpatrick of the Rock Climbing Company. Her expert guidance meant that a few of the team are already planning their next trip back to the area.
On Sunday, the team set off at 9am for the big climb of Snowdon, taking the Pyg track from YHA Pen-y-Pass, and making it to the summit in two hours and 40 minutes. Half the team went back down the same route, while the others descended the challenging Watkin Path and scrambled up Y Lliwedd.
After a long weekend of hiking up gruelling mountain trails, rock climbing, sheep spotting and many selfies, our team of explorers had a fantastic time.
As summarised by our operations manager: 鈥淐limbed a mountain. Swore a lot.鈥
