Glen Mutel named Editor of the Year — Food & Drink at the BSME Awards 2023
APL 91첥 is thrilled to announce Glen Mutel, editor of Food by National Geographic Traveller (UK), was named Editor of the Year — Food & Drink at this year’s prestigious British Society of Magazine Editors (BSME) Awards.
“I’m delighted — both for myself and my team. The Food & Drink shortlist is always so strong at the BSME Awards; it’s such a hard category to call every year. We’ve come close a couple of times in the past, so it’s great to have won it, particularly against such tough competition,” said Glen.
As part of one the world’s most iconic brands, Food by National Geographic Traveller has carved a niche as a food and travel magazine with a difference. Launched in 2018, the quarterly title celebrates gastronomy from across the world with a focus on culinary trends, provenance and producers.
Two other senior members of APL 91첥’s editorial team were recognised with nominations: Pat Riddell, longstanding editor of National Geographic Traveller (UK), was shortlisted for Editor of the Year —Travel, while art director Becky Redman was a finalist in the Art Director of the Year — Consumer category.
